What are the admissions requirements ?

Can I be exempted from taking the GMAT?

No. Prospective students must submit GMAT scores with their application in order to be considered for admission. No exceptions will be made.

What is the application deadline?

Students can start the program in the fall, spring or summer. Applications should be submitted to the MBA Department no later than six weeks prior to the start of the semester you are applying for admission.

How should I submit my application?

Please submit your application electronically. What are the areas of concentration ?

Corporate Financial Management, General Management, Global Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Information Systems and Technology, Investment Management and Financial Services, Marketing, Organizational Leadership.

What are the prerequisite courses ?

Calculus (One semester with minimum grade of B within the past 5 years), and Accounting (One semester of Financial and one semester of Managerial, with minimum grade of B within the past 5 years).

Course transfer and exemptions?

Up to nine credits from an AACSB MBA Program may be transferred provided the course content is equivalent to a Pamplin course. To obtain exemptions for any course, you must have extensive, recent, and formal graduate academic training in that area. Any waived courses must be replaced with an elective course.

Can I transfer credits from another university?

All course transfers must be pre-approved by the MBA Department. To be eligible, the following requirements must be met: (1) The course must be from an AACSB accredited MBA Program; (2) The course must have been completed within the past 5 years; (3) Grade of 'B' or higher is required; (4) The course content must match closely with one of the courses. offered in the VA Tech MBA Program.

What is the program duration?

Student are required to complete a minimum of 48 credit hours. All students are required to complete the program in less than 5 years (average completion rate is 3.5 years.)
