Transfer Courses

In certain cases, it is possible to transfer up to nine hours of elective courses from an AACSB-accredited institution to the Pamplin MBA Program with prior approval. Only elective courses which meet the requirements of the MBA program and were completed prior to admission to Virginia Tech are considered. Courses completed more than five years prior to admission are not eligible for consideration. Enrolled Pamplin MBA students are required to take all their required and elective courses in the program at Virginia Tech. Students will not be permitted to take or transfer any of the MBA courses from other universities following their admission into Pamplin MBA program.

The MBA Program Director will review the appropriateness of all requests for transfer credit of courses completed prior to admission. Usually this takes place when the student formalizes his/her application for admission and should be completed as early as possible prior to the admission decision.

Transfer credits must also follow the requirements of the Virginia Tech Graduate School. In part, this requires that the student has received at least a grade "B" to transfer the course. An official copy of the transcript from the transfer institution should be sent to the MBA Program Office.
